Los Altos played away facing off against Chino in a league game which had playoff implications. The Conquerors have strugggled on offense as of late, finding no answers in passing nor the run game. This game was full of touchdowns and scoring
Los Altos started the game going up 7-0 after senior running back Anthony Lopez ran it in for an 8′ yard touchdown. The second score came off a 24-yard touchdown pass from senior quarterback Kody Olmos, to Sophomore receiver Rene Zaldivar. Los Altos went into halftime with a 21-10 lead.
The Conqueors started the half with the ball and took it down the field to score on a four yard run by Lopez. Chino came right back with a score of their own, when Chino’s quarterback threw a 28-yard dart to the corner of the end zone. The time was running down and the Cowboys were down by five. Los Altos kept attacking the Chino defense in order to secure the victory. Olmos dropped back and hit Senior Quinn Peoples who was wide open for the 8-yard touchdown.
Linebacker Tommy Rodriguez had two sacks and three tackles, he felt great out there, “I felt amazing out there, I was flying to the ball, getting tackles and playing good. The offense was leaving huge gaps which allowed me to make plays.” On the offensive side, Quinn Peoples had a great game, Quinn was thankful for his quarterback, “I felt great, Kody was making great throws and I was getting open.”
The Conquerors face West Covina Friday October 27 at 7 pm at Los Altos for Senior Night. These two seniors want to win their last home game and knows what it will take and know practice is key, “We are going to work hard and perfect our mistakes, so we can beat Charter Oak,” commented Peoples. Rodriguez added, “We need to keep on working and strive to get better every day, and always give it our all at practice.”
