At the beginning of this school year, Raul Cabral joined Los Altos High School, this is
his first year teaching at a High School.
Cabral teaches English 2 and English 3 at Los Altos High School, trying to do his best
by helping students achieve a higher level by making activities.
He wanted to move from middle school to high school to have new experiences, and give
the students interesting lessons.
“I was excited to try High School because I have never done that before, the students are
different ages, so I needed to experience that,” Cabral said.
He spent six years at Sparks middle school teaching language arts, then he moved to
another middle school called Fairgrove Academy where he taught Language Arts and Social
Studies for four years.
“I moved because the enrollment was going down at Fairgrove Academy middle school,
so they offered me a High School position; that’s why I took it.” said Cabral.
The teachers and administration from Los Altos High School made Cabral feel like he is
home, they provided him support and, He said he was slowly learning school culture, and also
LAHS traditions.
Cabral said, “I would like to teach here long term. “Hopefully, I can stay here for a
couple of years.”
