On March 14th at Hacienda Heights Community Center, Los Altos High School held
their yearly Cabaret Night to showcase the choir students’ talents in the performing arts.
The highly anticipated event brought together students, families, and faculty to celebrate
the hard work and dedication of the choir department.
The show started off with Los Altos Men’s Choir, whose deep vocals set the stage
for an incredible night of music. Their harmonies resonated throughout the venue, giving
the audience a taste of the performances to come.
Patrick Rios LA Men’s Choir “I really enjoyed singing at the start, and I loved the
songs we sang ‘Sh-Boom’ and ‘I Can’t Help Falling in Love’ were great openers.”
With a variety of performances, a lineup of diverse performances, including group
numbers, duets, and solo acts, the night highlighted the hard work and dedication of the
choir department.
Omar Alverez LA Men’s Choir said “Choir put in a lot of effort to prepare for Cabaret
night to fund raise money for choir and also perform for our parents and friend and to
represent Los Altos”.
As the night progressed, the audience was treated to a variety of performances that
showcased the choir’s versatility. From upbeat group performances to heartfelt solos,
every act brought something unique to the stage. Among the standout moments was a
beautiful duet performed by choir members Josh Mainit and James Jimenez.
Josh Mainit LA Dynamics said, “I loved performing a duet with one of my choir friend
James and our song choose was my favorite ‘Blessed Assurance’ in my personally
opinion”.
This year’s show featured plenty of wonderful up-and-coming talents within the
choir department, particularly in the solo performances. These moments allowed
individual students to shine and showcase their vocal abilities to an eager audience.
Victoria Martinez LA Dynamics said, “I was very excited this was my first solo
performance of high school it was also really nerve wracking especially because I haven’t
had a solo since 7th grade”.
As the evening drew to a close, the choir department saved one of the best
performances for last LA Dynamics took the stage to deliver their final set, bringing energy
and emotion to their closing act. Their synchronized movements, harmonies, and powerful
vocals left a lasting impression on the crowd.
Martinez said, “it was good we gave it our all and tried our best we’ve been working
on the set a lot and it’s getting better every day”.
