Kevin Kaarl is a singer from Chihuahua, Mexico, he has won the Promising Musical
Artist of the Year, and others throughout the past 3 years.
On February 14, 2025 He came out with an album called ULTRA SODADE. All 13
songs in this album were recorded in the home of Kevin Kaarl and produced by his twin brother,
Bryan Kaarl who is also the guitarist.
The reason that the album was named ULTRA SODADE was because the songs in this
album tell the story of Kevin Kaarl reminiscing about his time with his past lover.The translation
of Sodade is the feeling of always longing for something or someone.
This album also represents him wishing that he and his ex lover had a different ending.
Brianna Blas is a Sophomore at Los Altos and this was the first time she heard Kevin
Kaarl. “You could tell this album meant a lot to Kevin Kaarl, it was very well written and every
song in the album told a different story that created a bigger picture.” said Brianna.
In the song called Esta noche (Tonight) we heard Kevin Kaarl remembering the night that
he felt the spark he had with his ex-girlfriend disappear. In this song he wrote “Entre el cielo
oscuro te miraba. Y no entendía lo que pasaba. Ya no te iba a ver.” (Between the dark sky I
looked at you. And I didn’t understand what was happening. I was never going to see you again)
I think that this song did an amazing job at showing what the album was about. Maybe
this is why Esta noche is the first song on the track list.
My personal favorite song is Ya no me llames (don’t call me anymore) I like who he talks
about trying to forget the past but he knows if she was to ever call he would go back.
Junior Ayla Magat said “Kevin Kaarl perfectly described the feeling of a person who can
not really move on from a past relationship. I am sure many people can relate Ya no me llames to
a past experience or something going on now in their lives.”
I believe that ULTRA SODADE is an album that is sad yet has a catchy sound to it. No
matter who you are I feel that this album can be for anyone who is going through a hard time,
well having a nice melody to the songs.

nicely, with a unique tune and well written lyrics. I would recommend ULTRA SODADE to
people.”
