Los Altos Renaissance hosted their annual Mr. and Ms. Conqueror on March 27th. This year, Los Altos Renaissance included Ms. Conqueror, allowing for girls across Los Altos High School to participate this year, making the event inclusive to everyone.
Ariana Duarte, a sophomore said “I like the inclusion of female participants, I enjoyed having both instead of just guts, even though I can see the reason for excluding girls in order to not objectify girls in a competition. It was nice to see that both can be included without it being weird or award watching a pageant competition.’’
Mr. and Ms. Conqueror is a night rally where participants are able to enjoy and engage, participating in multiple rounds throughout the night. The consentants with the most points won 2 free prom tickets.
Contestants this year for Mr. Conqueror and Ms. Conqueror ranged from sophomores to seniors. With the show of 2026 Mr. Conqueror and Ms. Conqueror started off with an intro video to all of the contestants.
Videos for Mr. Conquerors and Ms. Conquerors ranged from being at the airport to the school campus. Afterwards, contestants performed multiple dances with each other, with Mr. Conqueror contestants performing their own dance and Ms. Conquerors performing their own dance as well.
Ms. Conquerors and Mr. Conquerors participants were able to share who was going to be their partner throughout the night rally. With participants choosing their Mom, Dad, Siblings, and Best friends to accompany them throughout the rally.
Duarte said ‘’It was so fun accompanying one of the contestants and I loved being in the talent.’’
Afterwards, students were able to showcase their talents, with audience engagement. Participants of Mr. Conqueror and Ms. Conquerors choose to dance, lip sync and sing.
Duarte said, ‘’We created our dance by combining two famous movie dance scenes that we both enjoyed and each picked.’’
For cultural wear, students choose clothes from their culture, with dresses, suits, and hilarious outfits. Such cultures include African culture, Chinese culture, Mexican culture, and Nicaraguan culture.
The top 6 were chosen afterwards, with 3 for Ms. Conqueror and 3 for Mr. Conqueror. With Aniza Lopez, Vianney Miranda Rivera, and Emily Guan being top 3 for Ms. Conqueror and Cruz Miramontes, Julian Rodriguez, Jayden Hernandez being top 3 for Mr. Conqueror.
Duarte said ‘’I rooted for Emily Guan and I loved seeing her win.’’
Afterwards, the top 3 of Ms. Conqueror and Mr. Conqueror had to earn cash from the audience supporting them. Raising upwards 1,100 in cash, with Mr. Hess pitching in another 200.
The cash earned from dash-cash from the top 3 of Ms. Conqueror and Mr. Conqueror was donated to a cancer research fund. Allowing for children with cancer received funds from the Los Altos Renaissance.
Students had to answer one final question before the announcement of the final winner, “If you could be another culture, what would you choose?” With students of the top 6 picking cultures such as Chinese, Japanese, Hawaiian, and Brazilian.
The top 1 for Mr. Conqueror and Ms. Conqueror were chosen after the final question. with Vianney Miranda Rivera won Ms. Conqueror. And Jayden Hernandez won for Mr. Conqueror.
Duarte said ‘’I loved Mr. and Mrs. Conqueror this year, I would 100% do it again.’’
